On November 13, the International Office held an exhibition on the achievements of the 2024 Summer Innovative Practical Program for Global Talent Development in Room B211, Building 6 of the Engineering Practice Center. Wang Yurong, Dean of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship School; Xu Ping, President of Boston Global Education; Geng Peng, Deputy Director of the International Office; and faculty members from the School of Mechanical Engineering attended the exhibition and presented commemorative gifts to members of the "Outstanding Teams".

At the event, Wang Yurong noted that through this program, students not only acquired essential professional skills but also developed cross-cultural communication abilities, innovative thinking, and problem-solving capabilities through teamwork. The implementation of the program represents an innovative attempt in the university’s approach to cultivating globally competent talents, offering valuable insights for nurturing applied undergraduate talents with international perspectives and innovative capabilities. Xu Ping congratulated every student who successfully completed the program and commended their performance. She expressed hope that, in line with the university’s distinctive focus on applied undergraduate education, more high-quality courses would be offered in the future to broaden the horizons of both faculty and students, ensuring meaningful gains for all involved.

Co-organized by the International Office and the Innovation and Entrepreneurship School, the program featured renowned professors and experts from the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) in the United States. They conducted a course titled “Interaction Design – Design Thinking Workshop” for participating students. A total of 25 undergraduate students from schools such as the School of Art and Design, the School of Environmental Engineering, and the School of Electrical Engineering took part in the program. Among them, two teams were awarded the title of “Outstanding Teams” by RISD.
“Thanks to the university for providing us with this cross-cultural exchange opportunity, we not only gained professional knowledge but also deepened our understanding of foreign educational approaches and philosophies, laying a solid foundation for our future academic and career development,” shared representatives at the event. The two “Outstanding Teams” presented their learning outcomes on the themes of UI design and product interaction design, respectively, to the attending faculty and students, fully showcasing the exemplary academic spirit and youthful vitality of NJIT students.
