Date: 2025-03-21

To comprehensively review the outcomes of the 2024 overseas study programs, recognize outstanding achievements, and plan high-quality development pathways for the upcoming year, NJIT held the Summary Exchange for 2024 Overseas Study Programs and Promotion Session for 2025 Programs on March 19, 2025. Wang Qun, Standing Committee Member of the University Council and Vice President of NJIT, attended the event and delivered a speech. Over 150 participants, including representatives from the Student Affairs Office, the International Cooperation and Exchange Office, heads of student affairs from various schools, representatives of study programs, student representatives, and guests from partner organizations, gathered to discuss innovations and the future of study practices.

Wang Qun extended warm congratulations to the students who returned from overseas studies, fully affirmed the achievements of the university’s study programs and the efforts of all parties involved, and emphasized the significant role of international exchanges in student development and institutional growth. She encouraged students participating in international exchanges to act as bridges for cultural exchange, sparks for academic innovation, and practitioners of serving the society with youthful vigor. She urged them to maintain their passion for exploration, hone their skills and sense of responsibility, and cultivate both a “global perspective” and a “grounded sense of duty.” She stated that the university will focus on three key areas - expanding platforms, strengthening support, and deepening integration - to continuously elevate international exchanges and cooperation to new heights.

The director of the International Cooperation and Exchange Office systematically reviewed the 2024 study initiatives in terms of objectives, program design, and social impact. It was reported that in 2024, NJIT organized and implemented 11 batches of high-quality overseas study programs, involving 204 student participations (including online programs) in fields such as technological innovation, academic exchange, and cultural heritage. Both student satisfaction and partner feedback were highly positive.

During the experience-sharing session, representatives who participated in programs such as the National University of Singapore’s Urban Planning and Architectural Design, the University of Hong Kong’s International Economics and Business Management, and Nanyang Technological University’s Intelligent Manufacturing shared their insights and gains. Their vivid accounts highlighted the unique value of study programs in knowledge application and the cultivation of social responsibility.

The event recognized individuals who demonstrated exceptional performance in 2024 and awarded certificates for the Looker Education International Exchange Special Scholarship.

The session also introduced the plans for 2025 study programs, with a focus on promoting new initiatives such as those at the University of Cambridge, and the National University of Singapore.
