On the morning of March 21, 2025, Professor Liu Jiaxin from the Portuguese Studies Institute of the City University of Macau, along with Project Manager Ms. Wang Zhenzhen, visited NJIT. They engaged in academic exchanges with faculty members from the Office of International Cooperation and Exchanges, the School of Marxism, and the School of Foreign Languages, holding in-depth discussions on areas such as cross-cultural studies and country-specific research.

Prior to the meeting, the guests conducted an information session for students on the 2025 enrollment for the Master’s Program in Portuguese-speaking Countries Studies at the City University of Macau. They detailed the program’s distinctive features, educational objectives, curriculum structure, and application procedures, and enthusiastically addressed questions from attending students.

During the subsequent academic exchange session, both sides explored topics including cross-cultural studies and country-specific research. Professor Liu Jiaxin shared the research achievements and experiences of the Portuguese Studies Institute at the City University of Macau, while faculty from NJIT introduced their respective research focuses and recent progress. Both parties agreed that strengthening cross-cultural and country-specific research is of great significance for promoting exchanges and cooperation between China and Portuguese-speaking countries. They expressed their wishes to further enhancing academic collaboration in the future and jointly advancing research and development in related fields.

After the meeting, Professor Liu Jiaxin and his delegation also visited NJIT’s student entrepreneurship makerspace, “Tianyin Dreamworks Incubation Studio,” and spoke highly of the achievements made by the university in innovation and entrepreneurship education.
