President of China Education Association for International Exchange Visits NJIT

On April 27, Liu Limin, President of the China Education Association for International Exchange, accompanied by Fu Bo, Deputy Secretary-General, and Zhang Haining, Dean of the School of International Education at Nanjing Vocational University of Industry Technology, visited Nanjing Institute of Technology to conduct research and exchange on topics including the cultivation of applied talents, integration between the university and the region, integration of industry and education, as well as international cooperation and exchanges. Sun Aiwu, Chair of University Council, and Pu Lijie, Deputy Chair of University Council, warmly received the delegation and held a symposium with them.

Sun Aiwu expressed heartfelt gratitude to the association for its long-term guidance in the internationalization efforts of Nanjing Institute of Technology, and introduced the university’s historical development, educational features, and future plans. He emphasized that the university has consistently leveraged its strengths in industry-oriented education, closely aligned with national strategic needs, and built a disciplinary and professional system characterized by “smart grid,” “power energy,” “intelligent mechanical manufacturing,” and “gateway access system”. He expressed hope that this exchange would serve as an opportunity to further deepen cooperation with the association, jointly explore innovative pathways for cultivating applied talents with global competence, and make new contributions to advancing the development and the opening-up of education.

Liu Limin fully affirmed the university’s positive progress in serving the broader goal of opening up education and expressed gratitude for NJIT’s consistent support to the association’s work. He analyzed the new challenges and tasks currently facing the opening-up of education and encouraged the university to further explore resources, expand channels, and enrich platforms to continuously enhance the level of internationalization in education. He stated that the association would continue to serve as a bridge and link, providing support in platform building, resource integration, and project implementation. He expressed hope that both sides would further deepen cooperation, jointly explore new models and pathways for international exchanges and collaboration in higher education, and work together to create a new landscape of higher-quality and higher-level international exchanges and cooperation in higher education.

During the symposium, the director of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchanges delivered a thematic report on how international cooperation and exchanges empower the “Summit Plan” for building a first-class applied university, detailing the specific strategies and implementation measures for advancing the internationalization of the university.
