From June 18 to 20, 2025, a delegation of 10 students and faculty members from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire (UWEC) in the United States visited NJIT for a three-day Program. Centered around cultural immersion and interactive experiences, the exchange deepened the friendship between young participants from both institutions and fostered mutual appreciation between Chinese and American cultures through diverse and engaging activities.
On June 18, the delegation visited the School of Art and Design at NJIT, where they had the opportunity to experience the charm of traditional Chinese paper-cutting and pottery under the guidance of professional instructors. The exchange reached a memorable highlight with a table tennis cultural interaction, where members of NJIT’s table tennis team engaged in friendly matches with the visiting students and faculty.

On June 19, the delegation explored the Nanjing Museum, pausing before ancient bronze ware, Nanjing brocade, and brick paintings of the “Seven Sages of the Bamboo Grove.” From prehistoric artifacts to treasures of the Ming and Qing dynasties, they gained a systematic understanding of the evolution of Chinese civilization. In the historic Laomendong district, with its gray bricks and black-tiled roofs, the delegation sampled local snacks, observed Qinhuai lantern crafts, and appreciated the vivid charm of traditional arts. “Nanjing is like a three-dimensional history textbook,” remarked one delegation member, “where every artifact tells a Chinese story that transcends time and space.”

This exchange provided an opportunity for young participants from both universities to see and contribute to the friendly relations between China and the United States. It will also help NJIT further expand and advance new avenues of collaboration in higher education between the two institutions.
