Delegation from University of Sheffield (UK) Visits NJIT

On the morning of December 29, a delegation led by Wang Meihong, Professor of Energy Systems Engineering in the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Sheffield, visited Nanjing Institute of Technology. Pu Lijie, Deputy Chair of the University Council, warmly received the guests and held a discussion meeting. The two sides exchanged in-depth views on promoting inter-university cooperation programs across multiple fields.

Pu Lijie, on behalf of NJIT, extended a warm welcome to Professor Wang Meihong. He expressed the hope that this exchange would serve as an opportunity to further expand pragmatic cooperation with the University of Sheffield in areas such as energy and power engineering, mechanical engineering, and environmental engineering, jointly building a high-level international exchange platform to promote the coordinated development of talent cultivation and technological innovation. Professor Wang Meihong appreciated NJIT for its warm hospitality and noted that the two universities share broad prospects for cooperation in engineering technology and energy science. He expressed the hope for deeper collaboration in student short-term exchanges, faculty visits, and double-degree joint programs to achieve mutual benefits.

After the meeting, Professor Wang Meihong also delivered a presentation to NJIT students on the 2026 Summer Study Abroad Program, providing detailed information on the program’s specific arrangements, course content, and cultural experience activities.

The meeting was attended by key representatives from the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange and the School of Energy and Power Engineering.
