Delegation from University of North Carolina Wilmington (USA) Visits NJIT

On the afternoon of March 5, a delegation led by Jennifer Fernandez-Villa, Director of the Office of International Students and Scholars and Associate Provost at the University of North Carolina Wilmington (UNCW), visited Nanjing Institute of Technology. Shan Xiaofeng, Deputy Chair of the University Council, met with the guests. The two sides held discussions on deepening bilateral cooperation and advancing Sino-foreign cooperative education programs.

Shan Xiaofeng extended a warm welcome to the UNCW delegation and presented NJIT’s educational characteristics and achievements in international development. He noted that NJIT has always placed great emphasis on internationalization and expressed the hope that, taking the joint application for Sino-foreign cooperative education programs as an opportunity, the two universities would work together to expand areas of cooperation and innovate models of collaboration, thereby creating more opportunities for the growth and development of Chinese and American youth and contributing to higher education cooperation and cultural exchanges between the two countries.

Fernandez-Villa thanked NJIT for its warm hospitality and spoke highly of NJIT’s achievements in cultivating application-oriented talents and advancing innovation and entrepreneurship education. She expressed her expectation to deepen the partnership with NJIT through practical cooperation such as Sino-foreign cooperative education programs, achieving mutual benefits and win-win outcomes. Subsequently, the two sides engaged in in-depth discussions on the application process and follow-up work arrangements, reaching multiple consensus points.

During their visit, the delegation toured NJIT’s Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Achievement Exhibition Museum and held specialized discussions with the School of Management Engineering regarding the application for Sino-foreign cooperative education programs.

The meeting was attended by key representatives from the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange and the School of Management Engineering.
