University of Massachusetts Dartmouth (USA) Delegation Visits NJIT

On the morning of April 20, Tina Rong, Director of International Programs at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth (UMass Dartmouth), USA, and Xu Ping, President of Boston Global Education, visited Nanjing Institute of Technology. Wang Qun, Member of the University Council and Vice President, met with the guests. The two sides held in-depth discussions on deepening inter-university cooperation and the introduction of high-level talent.

Wang Qun extended a warm welcome to the guests and briefly introduced NJIT’s history, disciplinary characteristics, and international development achievements. She noted that NJIT consistently adheres to an open approach to education and actively expands its cooperation network with high-level universities abroad. She expressed the hope that, with this visit as an opportunity, the two universities would establish substantive cooperation mechanisms in faculty and student exchanges, research collaboration, and joint talent cultivation, particularly exploring more cooperation possibilities in areas of complementary strength such as engineering and digital media, thereby jointly enhancing the educational quality and international influence of both institutions.

Tina Rong thanked NJIT for its warm hospitality and introduced the history and disciplinary strengths of UMass Dartmouth. She expressed appreciation for NJIT’s achievements in application-oriented education and industry-education integration. She noted that UMass Dartmouth has a wealth of resources in doctoral students, postdoctoral researchers, and Chinese scholars, and is willing to build a platform for high-level talent exchange with NJIT. She also indicated that the two universities have broad space for cooperation in fields such as engineering education and digital media, and look forward to reaching specific cooperation intentions soon in areas such as short-term student exchanges and faculty visits.

The meeting was attended by key representatives from the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange and the Office of Human Resources.
