主讲嘉宾简介:
Michael Rode, Professor at the University of Potsdam in Germany. He is also the Deputy Head of the Department of Aquatic Ecosystem Analysis, Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research (UFZ). His research focuses on mechanisms of water and nutrient cycling in watershed-river systems, with an emphasis on their responses to extreme events such as prolonged droughts. He has published over 200 SCI-indexed papers. In recent years, he has initiated international collaborations on the application of emerging high-frequency sensor technology in in-situ water quality monitoring and in-stream process analysis.
报告主要内容:
High-resolution, in-situ sensor measurements now enable detailed observation of catchment-river ecosystems on relevant time scales. These high-frequency measurements provide novel insights into nutrient turnover, revealing informative diurnal and seasonal patterns, as well as their responses to environmental disturbances (like the prolonged droughts). Moreover, the high-frequency data are crucial for developing and validating fully distributed catchment nutrient transport models, providing essential tools for predicting critical water quality conditions and evaluating effective management strategies to protect aquatic ecosystems.
